YNW Melly, who had tested positive for COVID-19, insisted he was still behind bars on August 27 by posting a photo of himself in jail to Instagram and Twitter. As is the case with many people charged with first-degree murder, the rapper’s fans are wondering if he has been sentenced to death.
YNW Melly’s friend and fellow rapper YNW Bortlen have also been sent to prison (Cortlen Malik Henry). According to the source cited by Distractify, the state of Florida is not pushing for Henry’s execution. His bond was set at $5,000 and he was released on May 23.

When Will YNW Melly Be Released?
Melly’s mother Julie said that she expected her daughter to be released soon, although no specific date has been given. Melly alleges that she was meant to be freed sooner. March of 2020, give or take. However, because of the pandemic, this did not take place.
The rumor mill has it that the rapper got covid in jail and asked for parole as a result. Unfortunately, the release was vetoed. He hadn’t had to worry about it in a long time. His mom said he has a December 2019 release date and a 90-day countdown from there.
But that didn’t turn out to be the case. The expected release date has been pushed back multiple times since then. His present legion of fans is holding out hope that Melly’s mother is speaking the truth and that this will happen soon.
