The autopsy report also said that Sanders’ friend, who found his lifeless body in his apartment, had been texting with him the night before and Sanders had said he had used fentanyl. On the scene, drug paraphernalia was found.
Later, tests showed that Sanders had the “powerful” drug in his body. “Fentanyl is a man-made opioid that is between 50 and 100 times as strong as morphine,” the report said.
After the coroner’s report came out, Sanders’ family put out a statement to raise awareness about mental health.
“Tyler was an ambitious, hard-working actor who was also deeply and persistently depressed. Tyler was actively trying to get help, but he couldn’t find relief and decided to try drugs “David Sanders, the late actor’s father, said in a statement on Thursday.
“Tyler started taking drugs not because he wanted to have fun with his friends, but because he was having a hard time with his mental health. Even though we are still sad about Tyler’s death, we are determined to tell his story in the hopes that it will help people talk more about this common problem “the message said.
Sanders was in the 9-1-1: Lone Star movie. He was also in the TV shows The Rookie on ABC and What About Barb? on NBC, as well as the 2019 movie The Reliant.
