Many of the people involved in the admissions scandal have taken plea deals or have already been punished for their roles. In October 2019, Felicity Huffman did 11 days of her two-week sentence. In December 2020, Lori Loughlin will have been in jail for almost two months. Her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, is expected to be freed in April 2021.
Singer pleaded guilty to fraud, obstruction, racketeering, and money laundering in March 2019. He did help the FBI with its investigation, which led to many parents, coaches, and administrators being arrested.
Singer’s lawyers filed a motion in July 2020 so that he could move from his home in California to Arizona.

Did Rick Singer Plead Guilty for His Part in The College Admissions Scandal?
Yes. In March 2019, he pleaded guilty to four felonies: money laundering conspiracy, racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to defraud the U.S., and obstruction of justice. He probably would have faced much harsher charges if he hadn’t agreed to work with the FBI to help catch some of the parents who took part in his scam.
Why hasn’t Rick Singer been punished yet?
Singer might not have been sentenced yet because, according to the documentary, he still has to testify at other defendants’ trials. His cooperation in those court appearances could affect how long (or short) of a sentence he gets in the end. Singer also still hasn’t been given a date for his future sentencing.
