Star Wars: Bad Batch Season 2 is Coming Out In January 2023 on Disney Plus!

Disney announced the premiere of the second season of the animated series “The Bad Batch” earlier this year at the Star Wars Celebration event, and the trailer for the new season has since been released online.

The series will debut this fall exclusively on Disney+, though the streaming service briefly advertised its arrival on September 28, 2022. On Disney Australia’s official website, however, the release date for the second season of “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” was confirmed today.

The events of Kamino have been months in the past, yet the Bad Batch has continued their voyage through the Empire following the fall of the Republic. Through their many exciting mercenary missions, they will meet both new and old friends and foes in exotic and perilous locations.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Release Date

On January 4, 2023, Disney+ will premiere the second season of The Bad Batch. Each episode of the new season will premiere on Wednesday nights. However, that’s not the only place you can view it; the streamer is releasing it concurrently around the world, so you can watch it wherever you are.

If you want to know when The Bad Batch comes out in your time zone, we’ve got you covered. The season finale airs on March 29, so fans who want to binge the series as they did with Tales of the Jedi and Visions may want to wait until then.

About The Bad Batch Season 2

Fortunately, Star Wars Celebration provided fans with a plethora of new details and a second teaser for the next series. The supplementary trailer suggests that The Bad Batch will be teaming up with Gungi and reaching out to potential new partners (more screen time for Ahsoka, anyone?).

However, Commander Cody’s comeback following Order 66 is the true highlight of the supplemental trailer. Commander Cody, played by Temuera Morrison in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, is one of the few clones to have significant screen time in the original films.

He was in charge of Obi-Wan Kenobi and worked closely with the Bad Batch and Captain Rex. Disney’s removal of the expanded universe material left Cody’s future in the dark. Cody’s loyalty has always been a question, and we’ll soon find out if he’s sticking with Crosshair and the Empire or joining up with the Bad Batch.

The panel for The Bad Batch at Star Wars Celebration hinted that another important theme would be the quest for meaning. The Bad Batch were clones made to fight for a government that is now defunct. The removal of unit insignia on Bad Batch armor is just one indicator of a broader shift in perspective.

Echo in particular has turned from protecting Omega as a citizen to training her as a squad member. Finally equipped with a helmet, Omega is being trained by Echo to become a soldier, which the writers have suggested is the first step toward Echo assuming a leadership role.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Cast

The Bad Batch features a small cast largely due to the extraordinary work of voice actor Dee Bradley Baker. He lends his voice to each and every one of the clones, making him the one common denominator among the five villains.
