According to CNN’s Amy Woodyatt, rumors regarding Osaka not competing in the 2023 Australian Open despite being on the entrance list were sparked by her recent social media behavior.

  • Osaka shared pictures of herself and rapper Cordae—her boyfriend since 2019—in Paris on December 28. According to Woodyatt, she also reposted a snapshot of herself from a pilates studio she visited in the US last week.
  • Osaka won a Grand Slam championship every year from 2018 to 2021 while ranking among the top women’s tennis players in the world, but ever since then, she has experienced injuries and mental health issues.

Personal Life of Osaka

When she first started competing on the WTA Tour, Osaka was a shy, reserved person.  Initially baffled by her behavior, her former coach Sascha Bajin said, “She didn’t talk much, which made me think that she was a little bit more of a diva.

She’s never really looked into someone’s eyes, but that’s simply because she’s always been so reserved. I was unsure of why at the time.

” Known for its candor and caustic sense of humor, Osaka is also incredibly direct.

She began her 2018 Indian Wells Open victory speech with, “Um, hello… I’m Naom… oh never mind,” and later noted, “This is probably going to be the worst acceptance speech of all time.” She had been worried about forgetting who to thank and appeared to almost forget to thank her opponent, Daria Kasatkina, as well as one of her sponsors.

In 2019, Osaka started dating the rapper Cordae from the United States.

The National Women’s Soccer League, the highest level of women’s soccer in the United States, is where Osaka co-owns the North Carolina Courage as of 2021.

A professional pickleball team located in Miami, Florida, will debut in 2023, and Osaka is an investor in that squad.

After six years of being represented by IMG, Osaka declared in May 2022 that she was teaming up with Stuart Duguid, her agent, to launch her own sports agency, Evolve. By the end of 2021, her contract with IMG would have expired, and negotiations to extend it had stagnated.

It will only be representing a select few clients, and Osaka and Duguid will own shares in the agency.

Osaka announced in January 2023 that she was expecting her first child with rapper Cordae, not long after pulling out of the Australian Open.

Osaka said she hoped to return to tennis at some point in 2024 as part of the announcement.
