In 1981, the American heavy metal group Mötley Crüe was founded in Hollywood, California. Bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, lead guitarist Mick Mars, and lead vocalist Vince Neil formed the band. Over 100 million albums by Mötley Crüe have been sold globally.
Additionally, they have amassed twenty-two Top 40 mainstream rock hits, seven platinum or multi-platinum certifications, nine Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart (including 1989’s Dr. Feelgood, which is Mötley Crüe’s only album to reach number one), six Top 20 pop singles, and seven platinum or multi-platinum albums.
In the 1990s and 2000s, the band underwent a number of temporary lineup changes. These included the addition of vocalist John Corabi (who filled in for Neil from 1992 to 1996) and drummers Randy Castillo and Samantha Maloney, both of whom filled in for Lee after his departure from Mötley Crüe in 1999; he rejoined the group in 2004.
Is Motley Crue Still Together?
Yes, Motley Crue is still together despite taking a temporary hiatus in 2015. New dates for this summer’s Stadium Tour by Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett have been confirmed. Due to COVID-19 constraints, the tour has already been postponed twice. The show’s tickets went on sale on February 25. Performances will take place from June 16 to September 9.
The Motley Crue’s fans thought that the band had disbanded when the band signed a pre-tour “cessation of touring” agreement in 2015, even before embarking on a tour. But Motley Crue shocked everyone in 2018 with a documentary, four brand-new songs, and a summer stadium tour. To find out if Motley Crue will still be together in 2022, read on.
