On the afternoon of January 2, 2023, Block perished in a snowmobile accident close to his ranch in Park City, Utah.
Police say that he was riding the snowmobile down a steep hill when it flipped over and landed on him.
He was with a group, but when the accident happened, he was on his own.
In a statement, the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that he had died. They also said, “We are saddened to hear of Kenneth’s death, and our hearts go out to his family and friends, who are so deeply hurt.”
“We want to thank all of our first responders for all they do.”
The state’s medical examiner will now try to find out why the person died.

For whom did Ken Block run?
During his long and successful career, the popular driver has raced for a few different teams.
In 2005, he made his first race with Vermont SportsCar, which was backed by Subaru.
But in 2010, he joined the Monster World Rally Team, which was backed by Ford.
In the end, that team joined forces with Block’s Hoonigan Industries to become Hoonigan Racing Division.

On January 2, 2023, Hoonigan and the local authorities announced that Ken had died in a snowmobile accident near his ranch in Woodland, Utah. The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office in Utah said in a Facebook post that he was “riding a snowmobile on a steep slope when the snowmobile flipped over and landed on top of him.” Ken was found dead at the scene.
