Crunchyroll, a major anime streaming service On May 19, 2022, announced its collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, Eurozoom, and Wild Bunch International to release Suzume No Tojimari, the most recent masterpiece from Makoto Shinkai. After his previous hit, Weathering With You, left fans wanting more, Shinkai’s most recent work has a universal sound that resonates with audiences.
Japan has had its fill already. Fans from all over the world are currently eager to experience a similar thrill.

Since Suzume no Tojimari’s initial theatrical release in Japan, fans have been wondering precisely when the movie will be released. Despite the fact that Crunchyroll will make an effort to distribute the movie worldwide, Asian countries will not be included, this has long been confirmed. The protagonist of the film is Suzume, a 17-year-old girl who lives in a sleepy village in the Kyushu region of southwestern Japan. One day, Suzume encounters a young man who is looking for a “door.” Together, the two continue their journey and come across an old door in an abandoned house in the mountains. As soon as Suzume attempts to open the door, she is dragged inside.
Suzume No Tojimari Release Date
Makoto Shinkai, who had success with his two prior films Your Name and Weathering with You, of which Suzume no Tojimari is a spiritual successor, produced the movie through his studio CoMix Wave Films. Masayoshi Tanaka was in charge of character design, Kenichi Tsuchiya was in charge of animation, and Takumi Tanji was in charge of art direction.
Although we now know who will handle distribution, do we also know when? We do and we don’t, I guess. In particular, although a specific date has not been given, it has been confirmed that Suzume no Tojimari will start to be distributed globally at some point in early 2023.

Crunchyroll Will Launch Suzume No Tojimari in The United States in Early 2023.
Suzume no Tojimari’s marketing and distribution rights have reportedly been purchased by Crunchyroll, according to Screen Daily (excluding Asia, where Crunchyroll will partner with Sony).
In the early years of 2023, distribution of the anime will start in all other significant regions. Additionally, Crunchyroll has confirmed that its network, Sony Pictures, and Wild Bunch International will distribute the movie in French- and German-speaking Europe.
