The return of the murders and the suspenseful new season! The famous actor Paul Rudd is thrilled to be joining the cast of Only Murders in the Building for its upcoming third season.
While attending the premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania at the Regency Village Theater on Monday, Rudd chatted with ET’s Nischelle Turner about his work in both his newest MCU film and his role in the upcoming thriller Only Murders.
The experience of working on the smash Hulu series was “the most incredible thing to be [part] of,” Rudd said. “She’s amazing, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with Selena [Gomez], who happens to be a close friend of mine. As a person, she has my undying love. Steve Martin and Martin Short are the Statue of Liberty and the Mount Rushmore of comedy.”
Gomez posted a video from the set, in which Andrea Martin can be seen, confirming that Meryl Streep will be a guest star this season.

“Anyone who enjoys comedic performances should know that Andrea Martin was present; she hits home runs. Rudd said, “You pan across, and it’s Meryl Streep! I can’t believe I’m in the room with Andrea Martin. So, you might say she has some clout.”

Being part of the ensemble may be intimidating and inspiring for Rudd. Rudd emphasized, “I don’t want to get in the way of anything.” “There have been several ‘I can’t believe I’m in this room right now’ moments for me.”
Rudd’s size-shifting superhero, Ant-Man, in the latest film of the series battles Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors of Lovecraft Country, one of the most formidable villains in Marvel canon.
“When you see Jonathan perform, you think, ‘I can’t picture anybody else doing that,'” says the director. Rudd was generous with his information. “The man possesses an impressive air of authority. What a great thing to witness, considering Kang’s reputation as a conqueror.”
Rudd smiled and continued, “I think audiences are going to like it because it was fun to act contrary.”
Quantum mania, starring Ant-Man and the Wasp, opens in theaters on February 17.
