Jonathan Bryan Toews OM ( born April 29, 1988) is a Canadian professional ice hockey center who leads the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Toews was picked third overall by the Blackhawks in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
His nickname is “Captain Serious.
” He joined the team in 2007–08, and he was nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year.
The next season, he was named team captain, making him, at the time, the second-youngest captain in NHL history, after Sidney Crosby.
In 2010, Toews won the Stanley Cup and the Conn Smythe Trophy for being the best player in the playoffs.
Peter Forsberg was the youngest player to join the Triple Gold Club before Jonathan Toews won the Cup. In 2013 and 2015, he won the Stanley Cup again.

Jonathan Toews Suffered from Covid-19 Illness
Toews has already missed time because of an illness that was not caused by COVID-19. Now, he will play more because the Blackhawks have put their captain on injured reserve, going back to February 7.
The Blackhawks made a lot of changes on Wednesday, but this one is the most important.

Toews has a full no-trade clause, so he has complete control over where he goes next. The captain of the Blackhawks will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, which makes his future in Chicago unclear.
The Blackhawks are about to start a complete rebuild of their team. Chicago is currently in last place in the Western Conference. They’re three points ahead of the Anaheim Ducks for the last spot in the West. Only time will tell if Toews will be around to help the rebuilding process.
