Important information has recently been disclosed in The Apothecary Diaries. The anime version of the popular light book and manga series is long overdue.
A teaser and a pivotal image were also released alongside the official announcement. The Apothecary Diaries light book and manga will be adapted by TOHO Animation and Studio OLM, two of the biggest names in the ani-manga industry.
The Apothecary Diaries Anime Will be Release This Year
Many viewers of The Apothecary Diaries were caught off guard by the news of an anime version. On Twitter, many people have claimed that the news is a scam.
The Apothecary Diaries’ official Twitter page, on the other hand, has now announced that the anime will premiere in the Summer 2023 anime season.
The news was accompanied by a trailer, which begins with the popular main character Maomao drinking a therapeutic drug and then cuts to a montage of images from the future anime.
Minutes after the announcement, the trailer for the adaptation of The Apothecary Diaries had fans giddy with anticipation. The trailer’s showcase of the anime’s clean animation and the outstanding soundtrack does a great job of creating anticipation.

You can see Maomao heading out of the picture and into a temple, possibly where she performs her maid duties and dabbles in apothecary practices.
The collaboration between TOHO Animation and Studio OLM is expected to yield an anime classic, according to fans. Even though TOHO Animation isn’t widely recognized as an animation company, it has served as the producer for several of the most successful shounen anime adaptations of all time, including My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Haikyuu!!
The animation firm Studio OLM, on the other hand, is well-known for its work on such hits as Komi Can’t Communicate, Pokemon, and Odd Taxi.

About The Apothecary Diaries
The Apothecary Diaries is a series of fantasy mysteries set in ancient China.
The protagonist, Maomao, is brought up by her father, the town apothecary, in a rural setting. She is abducted by a mysterious person one day. She was bought and sold to become a member of the Emperor’s personal staff of female servants or harem.
Despite this, Maomao retains her wit and intelligence, which, combined with her medical expertise, makes her a very real threat.
Unfortunately for Maomao, her apothecary skills and secret identity are exposed. This leads to her being coerced into a position as the consort’s helper to the Emperor’s most prized wife.
Maomao’s hazardous curiosity is piqued by her time spent on the consort’s side, where she gains insight into palace life.
Authors Natsu Hyuuga and Touko Shino got their start writing The Apothecary Diaries as a light novel series. It started back in August of 2014 and is still going on now. MyAnimeList users have given the light novel an average score of 8.2 out of 10.
The first chapter of the manga based on The Apothecary Diaries was published in 2017, and it has since become even more popular than the light novel. In terms of average rating on MyAnimeList, the manga receives 8.44 out of 10 points.
A majority of the ratings for the manga were eight, with a sizable minority giving it a nine or 10. Seldom does a manga series manage to surpass the quality of the original light novel that it is based on, but this one does.
