As Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered for the 29th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, it was clear that they were there to have fun. On Sunday night’s red carpet, there were lots of fun details, sparkly sequins, and bright colors.
Zendaya was one of the best-dressed people that night. She wowed in a Valentino bustier dress that the brand’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, made just for her. Almost 200 silk roses were stitched onto the back of the strapless dress to make an elegant train.
The “Euphoria” star wasn’t the only one who wore florals. Emily Blunt’s figure-hugging Oscar de la Renta dress had big flowers on it, while Stephanie Hsu’s Carolina Herrera dress had a more subtle print. Paul Mescal also followed the trend by wearing a sheer overcoat with bejeweled petals embroidered on it.
Sequins and metallics added shine to LA’s Fairmont Century Plaza, whether it was Danielle Deadwyler’s sparkling hand-embroidery on her ombré Louis Vuitton dress or Michelle Yeoh’s gold fringe on her Schiaparelli haute couture dress. Sheryl Lee Ralph from “Abbott Elementary” looked great in a shimmering Tadashi Shoji dress, and Aubrey Plaza looked great in a bold sequined Michael Kors outfit that showed off her midriff.
Sabrina Impacciatore, who stars in “The White Lotus,” wore a flowy Valentino dress. Ariana DeBose, who wore an oversized Prabal Gurung pantsuit, was another actor who wore hot pink. Others wore bright yellow, like “Dahmer” star Niecy Nash-Betts in a strapless Vera Wang dress and Viola Davis in a Valentino dress.
Some of the best men’s outfits were also colorful. Austin Butler and James Marsden wore maroon and baby blue tuxedos, respectively, to put their own spin on the black-tie dress code. And Eddie Redmayne’s dramatic Saint Laurent blouse and wide-legged velvet pants were a welcome touch of extravagance on the red carpet.
