Legendary TV star Dick Van Dyke may have hurt himself when he lost control of his Lexus and crashed it in Malibu.
TMZ says that the 97-year-old actor’s car skidded in wet weather and crashed into a gate early Wednesday morning.
He got blood in his nose and mouth, and he might have hurt his head. TMZ said that when police got to the scene, the Hollywood veteran was driving his Lexus LS 500.
Paramedics helped him right where he was.
We know that Van Dyke wasn’t taken to the hospital. Instead, a friend picked him up and drove him home. Reports say that police have sent paperwork to the DMV asking that the “Mary Poppins” star take his driving test again.
Officers told the outlet that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the crash. The Post has asked the actor’s people what they think about it.
Nearly 10 years ago, Van Dyke was in another car accident in Los Angeles and had to be pulled from his burning Jaguar.

The actor’s car was on fire on the highway, but he didn’t seem to know that until he was pulled out of it. “It just started making noise, and at first I thought I had a flat,” he told TMZ at the time. “Then it started to smoke, and then it burned to a crisp.”
Van Dyke said he didn’t get hurt because a firefighter, a nurse, and a police officer were all passing by at the time. Somebody’s looking after me.”
