Kaiju No. 8 Anime Adaptation

Kaiju No. 8 is a Shonen manga that is authored by Naoya Matsumoto and released every week on the ShonenJump+ website, which is owned and operated by Shueisha.

Although it was just a year ago that the first book in the series was published, the popularity of the series has skyrocketed, and there are now over 1.2 million copies in circulation, even though there have only been two volumes published so far.

It should come as no surprise that fans want to see animated versions of their favorite characters in the form of an anime adaptation.

The anime adaptation of Kaiju No. 8 still has a long way to go, and the primary reason for this is that there is not enough source material. When a Jump manga has more than 100 to 120 chapters, the first anime adaptation of the series is typically produced.

This assures that there is sufficient substance to make an immediate sequel in the event that the production company discovers that anime is profitable for them and that each episode has the appropriate pace and does not need to rely on fillers.

Currently, Kaiju No. 8 has published around 30 chapters, which is just about the minimum amount of content required to produce a one-course animation.

In addition, taking into account the author’s release timetable, which calls for him to publish three chapters each month followed by a one-week break, it will likely be close to two years before the total number of chapters reaches 100.

The story takes place in Japan, where Kaiju, or monsters, have been showing up for a long time. A special military group called the Defense Force puts its life on the line every day to protect civilians from these monsters.

When a critter is killed, it is the job of the sweepers to get rid of the dead body. The main character is a 32-year-old man called Kafka Hibino who is unhappy with his job as a sweeper. He always wanted to join the Defense Force and kill Kaiju for a job.

But after several failed attempts, he gave up on his goals. Still, when Leno Ichikawa, an 18-year-old recruit with a lot of energy, joins Kafka’s group, he is once again inspired to join the military.

After a string of bad luck, including a run-in with a young sweeper, the main character meets an unidentified flying Kaiju that flies into his mouth and turns him into Kaiju No. 8, a monster that looks like a person.

After he turns into a humanoid Kaiju, Kafka wants to use his new skills to try one last time to reach his most important goal.
