David Grann is an American journalist who writes for the magazine The New Yorker and has written books that have sold a lot of copies.

David was born to Phyllis and Victor Grann on March 10, 1967. David’s mother used to run Putnam Penguin as CEO. She was the first woman to run a big publishing company as CEO.

David’s father is an oncologist and the Director of the Bennett Cancer Center in Stamford, Connecticut. David’s brothers and sisters are named Edward and Alison.

David got his B.A. in Government from Connecticut College in 1989. David got a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship while he was still in college. He used it to do research in Mexico, which is where he began his work as a freelance journalist.

In 1994, he got a job as a copy editor at The Hill, a newspaper about the U.S. Congress based in Washington, D.C. This was the start of his work as a journalist. In the same year, he went to Boston University and got a master’s degree in creative writing.

There, he taught creative writing and stories. In 1995, he was named the executive editor of The Hill. In 1996, Grann joined The New Republic as a senior editor. In 2003, he became a staff writer for The New Yorker. In 2005, he was in the running for the Michael Kelly Award.

In 2009, he won the George Polk Award and the Sigma Delta Chi Award for his article “Trial by Fire” in The New Yorker about Cameron Todd Willingham.

It’s been said that it’s the first time an innocent man has been put to death in the modern American legal system and there’s a lot of proof of it.

In “The Mark of a Masterpiece,” another New Yorker investigation, questions were asked about how Peter Paul Biro, who said he used fingerprints to help find lost masterpieces, did what he did.

Biro sued Grann and The New Yorker for slander, but the case was quickly thrown out of court. The piece was in the running for a National Magazine Award in 2010.
