The Show With Jerry Springer

The first episode of “The Jerry Springer Show” aired on September 30, 1991. It was made to look like “The Phil Donahue Show.” At first, the show was a political talk show where Jesse Jackson and Oliver North were among the guests.

Then, in 1994, Springer and his new producer changed the show’s format to include more scandalous tabloid stories in order to get better numbers.

Most of the time, a spouse or family member of a guest would ask them to admit something, which would lead to violence and shouting on stage.

This strategy worked, and by 1998, “The Jerry Springer Show” was more popular in some areas than “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” The last new show of “The Jerry Springer Show” aired on July 26, 2018. There were 28 seasons of the show.

From 1991 to 2009, it was filmed in Chicago, and from 2009 to 2018, it was filmed in Stamford, Connecticut. The Jerry Springer Show reruns started right away on the CW network, which still has the rights to make new shows.
