The Golden Age Arc is a Japanese anime film trilogy based on Kentaro Miura’s Berserk manga series, specifically its Golden Age arc. It was made by Studio 4°C. The first two films, The Egg of the King and The Battle for Doldrey, came out in Japan in February and June 2012, and the third film, The Advent, came out in February 2013. In North America, Viz Media has the rights to release the trilogy on English-language home video.
From October to December 2022, 13 episodes of a “Memorial Edition” that was remastered and edited with new scenes were shown on TV.
Where Can I Watch Berserk Online?
Since the recent changes to media and copyright, licensing has been a problem for many shows, including the 1997 anime Berserk. But luckily, starting December 1, 2022, you’ll be able to stream the season on Netflix.
All of the Golden Age Arc movies and the 2016 and 2017 versions of the sequels are also available on Netflix. But if you’re looking for an alternative, Amazon Prime has the sequel seasons, and a Crunchyroll subscription will give you access to the Berserk movies in the Memorial Edition.

Berserk The Golden Age Arc Memorial Edition Blu-ray Disc Release Date
The release date for the Berserk The Golden Age Arc Memorial Edition Blu-ray in the west hasn’t been set yet, but it has been announced on the series’ official website in Japan.
The set is set to be released on March 29, 2023. The set will have all 13 episodes of the Memorial Edition that were shown during the Fall 2022 anime season. It will also have uncut versions of the episodes that couldn’t be shown.
Also, there will be bonus features like credit-free openings and endings, as well as an interview with Kentaro Miura, which was only available at the Great Berserk Exhibition in Japan after he died.

Should I Watch Berserk Movies?
The Berserk: The Golden Age Arc movies cover the Golden Age Arc of the manga, which is already a plot point in the 1997 anime. Even though the movies have better animation, more action scenes, and a more natural way of presenting things, the original Berserk anime does a better job of building a world.
When Will the Blu-Ray Be Available in The West?
When the Berserk: The Golden Age Arc Memorial Edition Blu-ray will come out in the west is still unclear.
Even though it’s likely that the set will make its way to Europe and North America in the near future, it’s still not clear if a new dub will be made or who will buy the rights to release the new series. So, all we can do is wait until such an announcement has been made.
