Last month’s defamation court ruling against Amber Heard and her ex-husband Johnny Depp is being appealed or thrown out by the actress’s lawyers.

His camp says that Depp, who is 59 and claims to have lost the part of Captain Jack Sparrow because of an article written by Heard, in which she stated that she had been sexually abused but did not identify the abuser.

In reaction to Heard’s 2018 op-ed about coming forward as a survivor of domestic abuse, Depp won all three of his defamation lawsuits against him last month.

The damages awarded to Heard for her counterclaims against Johnny Depp totaled an additional $2 million. In the past, Heard’s lawyer had claimed that the actress would “definitely” fight the verdict.
